Handbooks and downloads
The Fulbright Austria pre-departure handbook provides you with all of the information you need to prepare to teach English abroad in Austria.
Every year, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science, and Research (BMBWF) issues its own handbook for the program in English and in German, and all USTAs are required to read it. Additionally, Fulbright Austria prepares a handbook for USTAs with helpful information about living and teaching English in Austria. Fulbright Austria also recommends that you contact the teaching assistant assigned to your school(s) in the previous school year. To look up former teaching assistants and their assignments, please check our participant lists.
